User Manual

Export

The export screen is used to export the selected song or set in popular file formats. Besides allowing you to choose the location and file format for export, this screen also allows you to choose output options. When you are all done, tap on the Export button in the upper right corner to export and optionally upload your files. Tapping on the Cancel button in the upper left corner will close the window.

OnSong automatically selects the currently viewed song or set for export but you can change this in the Scope Menu.

Choose Export Location

Your selected export location is displayed here with the option to choose a different location. This will let you browse folders in the storage location to choose for export. Options include: OnSong® Drive, Dropbox, File Sharing, Files, Google Drive, etc.

Output Options

This displays the file or files that will be outputted as well as the options that have been selected. You can change how the files are exported here.

File Formats

This is where you can choose the file format to export. This screen focuses on the common types of file yo would want to export including:

  • Adobe PDF is the best way to share your content in an easily printable and viewable format.
  • OnSong® Archive is the best way to share your content with other OnSong® App users. It has the full song, annotations, styles, and settings just as you see them making it customizable.
  • OnSong® Text is the content as it appears in the song editor within the app. If imported into another app, it will not include any annotations or style settings.
  • Text File is similar to the OnSong® Text format, but uses the more standard *.txt file extension and prefers chords over lyrics and simplified metadata.

Other File Formats

These options are hidden by default since it can get in the way of ease-of-use. By turning on the Show all available file formats, you can see these originally available file formats which include:

  • OpenSong is a file format used by some open-source software.
  • HTML File can be used to view the song content in a web browser.
  • Song List is a list of the songs contained in the sharing scope exported as an HTML file.
  • **OnSong® Backup is a compressed file that contains the full contents of your library. You can import this file into another device to restore your library.
