🎵 The Deets (No, Seriously, This Stuff Matters)

The song info tinkerer feeds a bunch of tags into your song's metadata guts. Fill out the stuff & close the menu = boom, metadata gets rewritten in the text editor. Cool? Cool.

The Deets

Your song's basic intel lives here. You know, the stuff that helps OnSong actually find your jams.

• Title — uh, the name of the song. Revolutionary, we know.
• Artist — who wrote it or whose name gets top billing.
• Number — a number you slap on the song so you can sort 'em like a freakin' librarian.
• Keywords — comma-separated words that make the By Topic tab of the Songs Menu actually work. You're welcome.

Keys

Where you tell OnSong what key you're in & what key you wish you were in.

• Original Key — the key the song was actually written in. Shocking.
• Transposed Key — the key you wanna shove it into. Real talk tho: you'll probs just use the Chords Tab in the Style Preferences Menu instead. This field is just here vibin'.
• Capo — which fret your capo goes on. Default & all that. But honestly, you'll probs change it in the Chords Tab of the Style Preferences Menu instead without messin' up the actual song. Srsly.

Diagrams

Pick your axe & tuning so OnSong knows which chord pics to show you.

• Instrument — choose what you're playin'. Changes the chord diagrams & what the Tuner Widget cares about.
• Alternate Tuning — go weird with your tuning. Messes with the Tuner Widget & might change your chord diagrams if it's feelin' generous.

Rhythm

Get your tempo & timing locked in so the metronome doesn't yell at you.

• Tempo — how fast (or slow, no judgment) your song goes. Opens the Tempo Picker so you can nerd out.
• Time Signature — 4/4? 3/4? We got 'em all in your metadata.
• Subdivision — tells the metronome how to divvy up the beats. Get fancy.

Scroll & Flow

Autoscroll = you need a time length & the ability to let content scroll from top to bottom like a normal person.

• Duration — how long this bad boy plays. Throw in seconds, MM:SS, or HH:MM:SS. We don't judge formats.
• Flow — grabs your section labels & arranges 'em top to bottom so the page flows like it actually makes sense.

Rights & IP Stuff

Gotta give credit where it's due & keep people from stealin' your stuff (or vice versa).

• Copyright — the legal mumbo-jumbo that shows up at the bottom of the page & lyrics projection. CYA.
• CCLI Song # — your CCLI number. Helps track who performed what for the overlords.
• Restrictions — lock people out from doin' stuff with your song if you're feelin' protective.

Books

Tap this & load your song into whatever book collection you got. Metadata magic.

MIDI

Got the MIDI add-on? Awesome. You can send MIDI commands when the song loads, or tell OnSong to listen for MIDI & auto-load the song like it's readin' your mind.

• Send — fire off MIDI when someone views the song.
• Receive — listen for specific MIDI commands. When OnSong hears one, it yanks the song into view. Already in your set? First instance loads. Not there? Pulls from the library. Already viewin' it? Jumps to the top. Basically magic.

Scene

Scenes add-on turned on? Set a scene to auto-play when the song loads. Fancy.
