    • Ableton Link
Ableton Link keeps OnSong’s tempo and beat in step with Ableton Live and other Link-enabled apps and devices on the same Wi-Fi network. There’s nothing to pair and no cables: apps on the network find each other and join a shared session automatically...
    • Chordboard
The chordboard plays chords without keys. Seven big pads laid out in the key of the song, a strip of modifiers, and a transport — so a guitarist covering a keys part, or anyone who doesn't play piano, can hold down real chords with one finger.
    • Menu
This menu gives you access to every setting contained within the chordboard including the following:
    • Strum
In Strum mode the pads don't drop the chord as a block — they rake across it the way a hand crosses the strings, and they keep strumming a repeating pattern for as long as the chord is held. Touch and hold the Strum button to configure it.
    • Custom Strums
The eight built-in strum patterns cover most songs, but not the one in your head. Custom Strums is where you write your own — a named pattern that then appears in the Strum menu alongside the presets.
    • Drum Rack
The Drum Rack is the full drum machine: kits, beats, fills, a tempo, and an editor for building patterns of your own. The same engine drives the Drums pedal drives from the pedalboard, with everything on the surface instead of under three knobs...
    • Output
When you tap on the Out button in the presets section, you can determine how the drum machine beats are outputted with the following options:
    • Soundbanks
This submenu lets you quickly change the soundbank that is used to create the sounds. The AuxDock comes with a standard sound font, but additional sound fonts can be found online for free or purchased to open an entire creative palette at your disposal.
    • Editor
OnSong's sampled instruments — the pianos, organs, strings and brass in the Sampler and the Toneboard, and the kits in the Drum Rack — all come out of SoundFont files (*.sf2)...
    • Beat Sync
Everything in music demands a synchronized beat... the metronome click, a drum groove, a delay slap, tremolo pulse, an arpeggio, etc...
    • Supported File Formats
OnSong supports a number of file formats making it a great app for any type of music content. Click on a file format to learn more about it and how OnSong displays its contents.

    • AuxDock
The AuxDock™ is a performance surface that slides up from the bottom of the screen and turns your device into a live music rig...
    • Menu
The AuxDock menu is access using the options button in the upper right corner of the AuxDock's handle bar. The menu has the following, top-level options:
    • Panels
AuxDock tabs are comprised of panels. Panels are self-contained components that can be used independently for music production. You can combine them to work together using the Panels menu in the AuxDock Menu...
    • Atmosphere
Atmosphere is the ambient bed — the sustained, key-matched pad that sits under a moment and makes silence feel intentional. Choose a sound, engage it, and it swells in and holds until you let it go...
    • Arp
This menu lets you determine how an arp, or arpeggio is played in time with the beat.
    • Bass
The bass menu lets you determine if and how bass notes are played under the chord. The bass note is specified with two different attributes.
    • Feel
The feel menu lets you tweak parameters to make chord playback less perfect and more human. Here are the three ways we do that:
    • Menubar
The menubar provides access to all the tools you need to manage your music right out of the box. If you like, you can Customize the menubar to rearrange or remove the buttons. By default, the menubar contains the following items:
    • Widgets
Widgets are self-contained user interfaces that you can place on your screen. This tab lets you toggle those widgets on and off in one place.
