Variable Actions
Most actions be momentary, matey. That means that ye press a button or tap th' screen t' perform an action such as scrollin' down or togglein' tracks. However, OnSong supports variable actions when ye use a MIDI Control Change, Note Event, or an analog input like an expression pedal. These let ye adjust parameters, usually from 0-100% but may have addition options too, savvy?
Ye can review th' Actions Menu fer th' variable actions that be not shown in each section. In addition, after selectin' a variable action, a wrench icon will appear in th' bottom right. This will let ye configure settin's fer th' variable action includin':
Display On-screen
Determines if information be flashed on th' screen as th' parameter be changed. Fer instance, when adjustin' volume, th' current volume will be displayed as a percentage.
Invert Values
Inverts th' information comin' from th' variable input. Fer instance, ye may want t' invert values when scrollin'. This would allow th' expression at 0% t' represent fully scrolled down th' page, while a value o' 100% be scrolled up.
Use Absolute Values
Determines how values be sent. Fer instance, MIDI Control Changes can be values between 0-127. If th' absolute value be used, OnSong will send a number from 2 through 127 as th' value. This may be helpful if ye want t' target a specific section by number. However, th' default be off which means amounts be relative from 0-100%. This means that OnSong would, in our previous scenario, choose a section based on th' number o' available section o' th' song where 100% would choose th' last section and 0% would choose th' first section, Arrr!
