Key

Th' key section keys be lettin' ye adjust how th' chords appear by default, savvy?, as well as how th' key chooser be workin' fer ye.

Chord Style

This here be allowin' ye t' choose th' default chord style fer newly imported songs, matey. Ye can be pickin' from:

  • Alpha displays chords as an alphabetic character (A-G) includin' enharmonic preference (sharp or flat). Default.
  • Nashville displays chords as numbers (1-7) based on their position in th' key.
  • Roman displays chords as Roman numerals (I, ii, iii, IV, V, vi, vii) based on their position in th' key.
  • Solfege displays chords as numbers usin' Latin (do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti) based on their position in th' key.

Solfege Type

When usin' th' Solfege chord style (do, re, mi, ...) this be determinin' how "do" aligns t' th' root chord o' th' key, Arrr!

  • Locked Do displays "do" as always alignin' with th' C note. Fer instance, if th' song be in th' key o' D, th' D chord displays as "re".
  • Movable Do displays th' "do" as th' root chord o' th' key. Fer instance, if th' song be in th' key o' D, th' D chord displays as "do".

Theoretical Keys

Th' key chooser or slider contains th' most common keys by default, savvy?. If ye be wantin' t' enable less commonly used keys, or keys that contain more than 7 sharps or flats, enable this here settin'. Default be off.

Transpose Control

Determines th' user interface preference fer key selection, matey. Options be includin':

  • Buttons (adjacent) displays keys that be adjacent t' each other accordin' t' th' circle o' fifths. (Default)
  • Buttons (chromatic) displays keys that be in chromatic/alphabetic order.
  • Slider uses th' original OnSong slider interface control.
