MIDI Nerd Zone

The MIDI editor lets you build or tweak MIDI events like you actually know what you're doing. This magical box lets you pick what kind of MIDI event to yeet into the void (or receive from it), plus channel, value, & other nerdy parameters for your chosen MIDI event.

OnSong supports a freakin' ton of MIDI event types. Pick one & we'll tell ya how to make it work (or at least try).

The CC Slider Thingy

This is a control change (CC) — basically what your foot pedal, knob, or slider screams at the universe. You get to pick a channel & value to send for this bad boi.

Sound Switcher

This is a program change (PC) event that tells your device "hey, play a different sound now." You gotta pick a channel & program number. Bonus nerd points if you wanna mess with bank select info.

Make Some Noise

This is for actually playin' notes on a MIDI instrument like it's 1987. Channel & note value are non-negotiable.

The Weird One

This is for those super special MIDI events called Non-Registered Parameter Numbers that only some instruments understand. You're welcome.

Play, Keep Goin' & Stop

These control MIDI playback of a track or sequence. No extra fluff. Just vibes.

Pick a Song

This is for queuin' up a specific song. Revolutionary stuff.

The Pro Move

This is for sendin' fancy messages to & from MIDI devices. Usually it's manufacturer-specific gobbledygook.

The Waiting Game

This literally just adds a pause between MIDI events. Thrilling, right?

Note: The Test This Thing button pops up in random OnSong places. Smash it to send your command to whatever MIDI gear is actually plugged in.
