Crash Logs

Arrr, if OnSong be abruptly returnin' t' th' iOS home screen, this be a sign o' a crash condition, savvy? These can happen fer a number o' reasons that require some more troubleshootin' than yer library diagnostics can provide, matey. If ye send yer diagnostics t' OnSong after a crash, we may request a crash log t' determine what be happenin'. Here be instructions fer findin' a crash log fer OnSong when usin' MacOS or Windows.

Sync wi' iTunes

Crash logs be transferred t' iTunes whenever ye sync yer device, Ahoy! Connect yer device usin' th' included USB sync/charge cable and open iTunes. Open th' iOS device in iTunes and click on th' Sync button. This will copy th' crash logs on th' device t' yer computer.

Retrieve th' Crash Log

This process be slightly different dependin' on th' operatin' system ye be runnin' wi' iTunes, Blimey! Please note that ye can find yer device's name within iTunes, or by openin' th' Settings app on yer device and choosin' General » About.

MacOS

1. Open Finder (found in th' Dock)
2. Click on th' "Go menu at th' top o' yer screen, and select "Go t' Folder"
3. Type (or paste): ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/
4. Open th' folder wi' th' same name as yer device.
5. Look fer files startin' wi' "OnSong". If ye don't see any, try openin' th' folder called "Retired". Here, ye should see at least one item startin' wi' "OnSong". Copy any that ye find t' yer Desktop.
6. Attach th' file(s) t' yer reply t' th' support case email.

Windows Vista/7

1. Open any Windows Explorer Window (Me Computer, Me Documents, etc.)
2. Enter %appdata%, and press enter.
3. Navigate t' Roamin' » Apple computer » Logs » CrashReporter » Mobile Device and choose th' folder wi' yer device's name.
4. Ye will see at least one item startin' wi' "OnSong". Copy any that ye find t' yer Desktop.
5. Attach th' file(s) t' yer reply t' th' support case email.

Windows XP

1. Locate yer Application Data folder. Click here t' learn how t' access this folder.
2. Navigate t' Apple computer » Logs » CrashReporter » Mobile Device and open th' folder wi' yer device's name.
3. Ye will see at least one item startin' wi' "OnSong". Copy any that ye find t' yer Desktop.
4. Attach th' file(s) t' yer reply t' th' support case email.
