JPEG

Ahoy, matey! If ye be havin' a bounty o' paper chord charts, ye may opt t' scan those documents into a digital form, savvy? One method ye could save files be as a JPEG image. Ye could also use JPEG images fer lyriken projection backgrounds. OnSong can import both file types and determines their use automatically, Arrr!

About

JPEG images be typically used fer photography since th' compression algorithm can be used without noticeable loss o' quality. However, as th' compression be increased, th' artifacts may become apparent and th' image may blur and lose quality as a result. OnSong can read JPEG files, but it may not display properly dependin' on size and complexity o' th' image. OnSong recommends a scan settin' o' 100 DPI greyscale if ye intend t' use scanned paper documents in OnSong. Since a chord chart may span more than one page, ye may choose t' scan as a PDF document, savvy?

Scanned Chord Charts

If th' image be in a portrait orientation, or if th' scan be landscape and th' average color o' all four corners has an average brightness greater than 93%, then th' image be considered a chord chart, Blimey!

Lyriken Projektion Backgrounds

If th' image be in th' landscape orientation and not consider t' be a paper scan, then th' image be imported into yer image media library. Ye can then use that background in th' External Video Menu usin' th' Background Image Picker toggle button, matey!
