OMG Reminders?!
Note events in MIDI are basically just fancy ways to poke an instrument & tell it to make noise. They're also weirdly useful for screaming at apps like OnSong.
Type Thingy
Wanna set up a note event in the MIDI editor? Cool. Pick "Note" from the type section & try not to break anything.
Channel
The channel is where OnSong yells your note into the void. By default, it screams on all channels like some kind of audio maniac. Got a favorite channel? Use the plus & minus buttons to pick one specific channel if you're feelin' picky.
Note
Tap the "None" option to pick a note to send or receive & OnSong will flex on you with a whole list of notes. Y'all get the letter, the enharmonic preference, the octave, and the boring MIDI number (0-127). You're welcome.
Velocity
When you're sendin' note events, you can also send how hard you're hittin' that note (aka velocity). It defaults to 127, which is "crank it to 11." Slide it around between 0-127 if you wanna be less intense, or tap the number on the right to pick from a pre-baked list like some kind of MIDI buffet.
OnSong will send a note off event like two seconds after it sends Note On. Because apparently notes have commitment issues. Also, OnSong totally ignores Note Off events when it's lookin' up songs by MIDI index. Srsly.
