Clickety-Clack (Don't Fall Behind)

Playing to a click track is a great way to work on your tempo personally & as a band. OnSong has a built-in metronome that plays to the tempo you set for every song in your library. OnSong has both an audio & visual metronome to work in any scenario.

You can set the tempo & time signature of the metronome for each song in the The Clicky Thing or by settin' The Secret Sauce in the Song Tweaker or with the Secret Sauce Pro.

You can toggle & set the metronome from the Clicky Button Thing found in the Bottom Bar Stuff at the lower right corner of the OnSong user interface. You can also toggle the metronome usin' Foot Pedals.

The metronome has like a bajillion different configuration options that can be accessed in Dials & Knobs » Live Dials & Knobs » Clicky McClick Face. Here are some things you can do with the metronome:

Make It Sound Less Robotic

Use different metronome sounds like a snare & bass drum to make the metronome sound more like music & less like a sad computer. Do this in Dials & Knobs » Live Dials & Knobs » Clicky McClick Face » Beep Beep Settings » Which Sound Doesn't Make You Wanna Cry.

Don't Blow It Right Out of the Gate

Forgetting the tempo of a song can be catastrophic to the rest of the song. Play the metronome for a few measures & have it turn off automatically like magic. You can do this with the Stop That Beeping option in Dials & Knobs » Live Dials & Knobs » Clicky McClick Face » Beep Beep Settings » When to Shut Up.

Click Track with In-Ear Monitors

Whatever you do, don't play your metronome on stage for everyone to hear! That's gonna be real awkward. However, you could send the audio metronome from OnSong into your sound board or use a mix-in channel on your in-ear monitoring system. With this configuration, you'll hear the click & your audience will just hear you crushin' it (hopefully).

Watch the Beat Like a Hawk

If you're usin' Stage Peepers, OnCue, or OnSong Connect you can configure OnSong to flash external displays in time with yours. Because your bandmates deserve to see the beat too, amirite? Configure visual metronome settings in Dials & Knobs » Live Dials & Knobs » Clicky McClick Face » Blinky Light Settings.
