Shizzle You Can Actually Do

OnSong is designed to be the go-to app for musicians. Whether you're practicin', teachin', or performin' live, OnSong has the tools & features to let you be free to play music. (No pressure, tho.)

The following is a dissection of OnSong as a series of features. Choose one to get an overview of the feature as well as links into the interface of the app that makes the feature work. (Buckle up, peeps—there's a lot.)

Snag Stuff Into OnSong

Add content to your OnSong library right from the Safari web browser. Because apparently walkin' to your computer is, like, so 2010.

AirDrop

Use AirDrop to import & export songs & sets between iOS devices & newer Mac computers runnin' OS X Yosemite or higher. Apple magic. You're welcome.

Autoscroll

Scroll from the top of the chord chart to the bottom like a teleprompter. For when you're too busy playin' to actually read.

Backin' Tracks

Play backin' tracks through your device while you play along with chord charts. Because playin' solo is, uh, lonely.

Backup

Save your entire OnSong library to a single file for easy restoration. Don't say we didn't warn you when your iPad decides to yeet itself into the ocean.

Books

Organize your songs into books to manage large music libraries. Marie Kondo would be so proud. (Or confused. Probably confused.)

Bumpers

When you're usin' a foot pedal to navigate your set, it's easy to move on to the next song before you may be ready. Bumpers lets you know what the next pedal press does so that doesn't happen. Basically: slow down, speedracer.

Capo

Slap a capo on your guitar & let OnSong adjust what you need to play to stay in key. Math so easy, even you can do it.

Chords

Chords are detected in text-based documents lettin' you highlight, transpose, & even play them on a virtual instrument. It's like havin' a tiny band in your pocket.

Color

OnSong lets you use color to suit your music & mood through an intuitive color picker. Express yourself, bestie. (We ain't judgin'.)

Connect

Wirelessly control your band's OnSong devices with music to meet their needs. Herd cats from your iPad. Revolutionary.

Console

Manage the library on your device from a web browser for fast edits. Why leave your couch when you can stay on your couch?

Chromecast

Use an inexpensive dongle from Google to project lyrics without wires. The future is now, & it's wireless.

Developers

Create your website or app to integrate with OnSong through our URL scheme & OnSong Connect API. Go forth & build weird stuff with us.

Drag & Drop

Usin' OnSong on an iPad runnin' iOS 11 or higher lets you use drag & drop to import files into OnSong, export content & manage your library. Swanky.

Drawin'

Draw on the chord chart with pens & highlighters. Doodle your feelings. We won't judge.

Dropbox

Import, export, & sync with Dropbox to get content on & off your device. The cloud is just someone else's computer, but like, it works.

External Video

Expand the OnSong experience beyond one device with lyrics projection & stage monitor mode. ZOMG, multiple screens?!

File Formats

OnSong supports a number of text-based file formats, as well as the ability to view other types of files. We're basically file format Switzerland: neutral & helpful.

Files

Import & export to any storage app on your device that supports the Files app or storage providers in iOS. Maximum flexibility. Minimum chill.

Flic

Flic is a Bluetooth smart button that you can place anywhere. Perform up to three actions when you single click, double click, or long press. It's like magic, except it's just... buttons.

Flow

Write each section of your song once & let OnSong expand the content from top to bottom. Lazy and efficient? Chef's kiss.

Foot Pedals

Your hands are busy on stage, so use your feet to control your music & perform other actions in the app. Basically, you're a octopus now.

Gears

Extend your control when usin' foot pedals to shift into different gears. Vroom vroom. (It's not a car. But it sounds cool.)

Google Drive

Import & export songs to Google Drive directly from within OnSong. More cloud storage than you know what to do with? Yes, please.

Hands-Free Operation

Your hands are busy when playin' an instrument. OnSong can use foot pedals & more. Keep your paws on the fretboard, pal.

Low Light Mode

Increase readability & reduce light wash when in dimly lit environments. Because church basements are dark, y'all.

Lyrics Projection

Project lyrics to a crowd, individuals, or to a congregation. Watch 'em sing along. It's magical. (Or awkward. Could go either way.)

Messages

Send color-coded, custom messages to your team for hassle-free signaling'. The walkie-talkies of the future, but make it fashion.

Metronome

Play to a click track for practice or to start the song off right on stage. Tick tock. You're either on beat or you're not. No in-between.

MIDI Integration

Send MIDI to control the sound of instruments, or listen for song changes & more. Plug in all the gear. We dare you.

Moments

OnSong is great for makin' set lists of songs. Moments let you add other scheduled items to your set, turning' it into a complete run sheet with times. It's like a thermostat for your gig.

Multitasking

OnSong has powerful multitasking features that allow you to run OnSong in split screen on supported devices, or keep OnSong runnin' in the background. Be everywhere at once. (Almost.)

OnCue

Stream your set & songs to OnSong devices around you with Bluetooth or WiFi. Blip blop beep. Synced.

Output Options

OnSong features a number of ways to output your information to get the job done. Export, print, & open content into other apps. We're basically the Switzerland of music apps, but useful.

Play back tones to get acappella or vocal intros started without music. A tiny band director in your pocket.

Planning Center Integration

Download your songs or plans from Planning Center into OnSong for use on-stage. Less copy-paste. More actually performin'.

Stage Monitor

Connect one or more video screens & run your stage with one OnSong device. One iPad to rule them all.

SongSelect

Access PDF chord charts or text-based lyrics from this common service. Industry standard. Boring. Necessary.

Spotify Integration

Link songs from your Spotify library to chord charts for practice & backin' tracks. Streaming meets structure. It's weird. It works.

Sticky Notes

Stick notes on your chord chart to remind yourself of intros & more. Digital Post-its for the forgetful musician.

Synchronization

Maintain the same library on your personal devices. Keep it real. Keep it synced.

Timeline

OnSong now features non-linear autoscrollin' by recordin' navigation events onto a timeline for playback. It's like a DVR, but for your brain.

Transposition

Change the key of the song instantly without bringin' up bad memories of music theory class. You're welcome.

Universal App

OnSong is a universal app so it works on iPad, iPhone & iPod touch. Install on your iPad & iPhone. Learn some differences in the user interface when usin' OnSong on a more mobile device. (Spoiler: it's smaller.)
